Driver Training for P Plate Drivers

Two day course, non-accredited

A practical defensive driving course for all provisional drivers, this course teaches the survival skills which are not part of the licensing test.

Theoretical explanations in the classroom are reinforced by practical exercises carried out on Roadcraft’s purpose-built training circuit. After two days learning and practical application you will have the tools to be a much safer driver by the end of the course.

Day One

Car control skills (theory and practical)
Emergency braking (theory and practical)
Brake and evade (theory and practical)

Day Two

Introduction (classroom)
Cornering line (theory and practical)
Curve braking (theory and practical)
On-road defensive driving (theory and practical)
Discussion (classroom)

What to bring

  • Your car (the car you normally drive)
  • Your Provisional driver’s license
  • Hat and sunscreen
  • Lunch and snacks
  • Water bottle
  • Sensible shoes (enclosed toe is best)

Important Details

  • Bookings are essential
  • Course starts at 8:30am (please arrive by 8:15am / finishes 4:00pm)
  • Chilled drinking water and tea and coffee available
  • All Roadcraft courses have a Lay-By system
  • Course must be paid for in full before course can be attended
  • EFTPOS and Credit Card facilities available

Frequently Asked Questions

AYes. Please be aware that the lunch break is very short. Roadcraft does have a kitchen with refrigerator and microwave available for use, however there are a few service stations not too far away.

AYes, it is really good to bring your own vehicle so you can get the feel of how it will handle in different situations. If you don't have your own vehicle, you can hire a Roadcraft vehicle.
